Starting Dates

The Bachelors Degree Extended Programme has enrolment dates in February, June and October each year.

Mode of attendance

The GSM London Bachelors' Extended Degree is awarded by the prestigious University of Plymouth and can be completed in three years and eight months or through our accelerated pathway of just two years and eight months. All of our specialist bachelor programmes are available through the extended pathways with start dates in February, June and October.

Programme structure

The first stage of the programme is a Foundation level qualification, studied over two semesters with six taught modules. This initial stage of the programme is designed to prepare students for the Bachelors degree by developing self-confidence, awareness and a solid understanding of the principles of management education.

The next element of the programme consists of three stages; There are six subjects at each stage: three subjects in any semester. Each stage takes eight months (two semesters) to complete.

Assessment

Assessment is made on a continuous basis, taking programme work, group project work and examination results into consideration. Formal examinations take place at the end of every semester.

Continuous assessment throughout the degree, emulates the business environment by placing an emphasis on the consistent intensity of work demands.

Admission Requirements

An applicant must be 18 and have obtained;
5 GCSE’s (A*-E)
Or
NQF Level 2 qualification
Or equivalent.

Students will require a good command of written and spoken English demonstrated by IELTS 6 (or equivalent) for applicants whose first language is not English

Typically, other qualifications are also expected such as post-GCSE qualifications including 'A' level or AS levels, access to HE modules, pre-access qualifications, vocational or advanced GNVQ or equivalent qualifications;

Other qualifications may be considered. Applications from candidates who lack the normal course entry requirements are positively encouraged. In such cases, the Admissions Tutors must be satisfied that the applicant has the necessary potential, knowledge or experience and motivation to follow the course successfully. Candidates with non standard qualifications will be invited to attend for interview.

Entrants will be interviewed, where possible, to identify their aptitude for study in Higher Education, life or career experience, and other factors relating to professional qualifications. The importance of full engagement with the programme will be stressed at this stage.

  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent overseas academic, or professional qualifications
  • TOFEL (minimum score 550)
  • IELTS level 6 or above (if English is not your first language)

Accreditation of prior learning – partial exemptions can be obtained from the programme subject to the University of Plymouth Academic regulations and dependent on the compatibility of previous study.  Each case is considered on its own merit.

Registration

On receipt of your application form and enclosures the School will assess your application and:

  1. Accept your application if you are qualified for the programme. (If you are not qualified the School may suggest an alternative programme that suits your needs and qualifications).
  2. Forward to you an acceptance letter and statement of fees. These letters will inform you of the date that you should enrol and the duration and cost of the programme.

Enrolment

  1. You should arrive at GSM London on the date specified on your acceptance letter.
  2. International students will be expected to pay their tuition fees on or before enrolment. If you would like to arrange a payment plan you will need to visit our Bursar to discuss.

Further Information

  • Tuition fees are payable in advance (instalment plans are available by arrangement).
  • Tuition fees are non-refundable.
  • Application fee of £130, payable by cheque, postal order, Credit/Debit card or BACS
  • Overseas students are reminded that they must comply with Home Office regulations on immigration, particularly with respect to attendance. A medical certificate must support absences due to illness. An International Student Declaration form will also need to be submitted.
  • Programme details may be subject to alteration.
  • Programmes will only take place if justified by demand.
