Managing Information
This module demonstrates the central role of information in organisations and identifies the nature of systems able to handle and effectively use information for management. You will identify the types of systems and their design, whilst also considering the ethical and social issues arising from the adoption of advanced information systems.
Financial Analysis
This module will introduce you to the nature of the short-term and long-term capital Markets by developing your understanding of the factors underlying investment decisions and those relating to the deployment of capital within organisations. You will explore the methods and costs of raising capital and analyse methods of setting and controlling cash flow and cash budgets.
Human Resource Management
This module introduces the nature of corporate culture and change in organisations and the roles played by managers, individuals, groups and teams. It is also designed to develop an understanding of both the strategy and operational aspects of the management of human resources in organisations, and also the ways in which the quality of HRM affects all the functions of management.
Marketing Strategy
You will develop an understanding of the significance of the marketing concept for corporate business planning by examining the nature of market segmentation and its importance for corporate marketing strategy. You will explore the ways in which different market characteristics affect marketing operations across a range of businesses and investigate the relationship between marketing strategies and marketing functions.
Study Skills
The Study Skills module is intended to provide the foundations for undertaking undergraduate studies. It will address potential problems by providing the development for good academic practice. It is important to make explicit the criteria and standards applied in assessing students’ work and accordingly this module aims to initiate an understanding of such requirements.
