This degree is the perfect first step towards a career in business management. Where will this degree take me?

Our Business Management degree is designed to equip you with the necessary skills required by employers, and ensure that you are well-placed to work in business management roles. Career options include investment banking, systems analysis, operations, logistics and risk management, marketing and sales, HR and account management.

What will I learn?

At stage one: students will focus on the principles and fundamentals of core management and be given the opportunity to define the role of managers within organisations.

At stage two: students focus on using their knowledge of business management to build their skills capacity and to model the required behaviours of professional managers.

At stage three: students critically analyse and evaluate the effectiveness of various models of management practice that contribute to driving organisational performance.

Entry requirements

An applicant must normally be 18 years of age at the start of the programme and as a minimum must have obtained:

  • 2 A Level passes (A-E/ minimum of 80 UCAS Tariff points) or successfully achieved 120 credits on the GSM London’s Year 0 programme or equivalent

If English is not the applicant’s first language, proof of fluency through IELTS (minimum score 6.0) or another accepted system must be provided.

Other qualifications that may be considered include:

Applications made under these qualifications may be subject to approval by Plymouth University.

Other equivalent qualifications may be considered if the Admissions Tutors believe applicants have the potential, motivation and knowledge to complete the programme successfully. All applicants who do not meet the standard entry requirements will be invited for interview.

Mature students (those 21 and over) with evidence of full-time work experience supported by a reference from their employer may be considered on their individual merits.

Candidates who do not meet the degree entry requirements are encouraged to apply for the Foundation Year. On completion of the Foundation Year you will gain direct entry on to this degree programme, read more about our Foundation, Year 0 programme.

Accreditation for prior learning will also be considered on an individual basis.

Once we receive your application form and supporting documents, we will assess your application and if successful, we will issue you an acceptance letter and a fee statement detailing your enrolment date, programme cost and duration.

You should arrive for enrolment on the date specified in your acceptance letter, at your chosen GSM London campus. Please note that international students will be asked to pay a percentage of tuition fees on or before enrolment.
