Hi there, I've just installed the ME IR patch. The install seemed to go well and I now see an IR device under Devices where previously there were none. However, I'm a complete newbie at IR and don't know what to do from here. I would like to be able to sync my Palm to my laptop via IR, and I'm told that the IR icon should show up in my desktop tray. Try as I might, though, I can't figure out how to do this. I also read that an IR icon should be appearing in my Control Panel, and it's not there. Did I miss a step? I just don't know how to "enable" the IR port now that it's installed. Can anyone help? Thanks very much, Lisa |

To find out which program occupies the port use Portmon (http://www.sysinternals.com). Maybe you are also interested in testing 2.0.0-alpha1, see download page. This version is based on a different design. Jan |

Should be solved by 2.0.0 (yet an alpha version - not for production use). Jan |

It worked with my Siemens S35 and Nokia 8210 I have 2 systems on my PC: Windows ME and Windows XP Professional. I had to use ME to edit my phones. Even on ME it was not easy to install Jet Eye. There is its driver in ME drivers set. But it does not create Virtual port. It was simple to install Extended Systems software on ME and to set IR virtual port. So I had to swith to ME if I wanted to edit my phones. When I found IrCOMM software I installed it immediately and it worked.!!! Thank you very much - it is unbelievable what people can do. They could do what a huge corporation didn't. Ram, Moscow |

Hi! To be straight to the point: anyone ever had problems stting up a IR connection from pc > USB to IR > Nokia 6510? My infrared stuff seems normal, connections can be made, it monitors the devices that are next to it, but when anytging is read from - or written to the phone it says the IR connection is lost. Tried to re install both the ir connector as the software that came with the phone, but it doesn't seem to help a bit... As far as I know there are no things blocking or disturbing the IR connection... Does anyone have any help? Maybe you can point me into the right direction ... THanx in advance! |

Look at the P7689 tree in the Motorola forum. It's the exact same phone as the T250. I'm actually trying to apply those fixes to Windows XP at the moment, but it is not working particularly well. Standard XP will find the phone as a modem on COM4, but neither Truesync Plus nor Truesync SMS find it there - Truesync Plus keeps trying forever to access it, and Truesync SMS times out eventually with error message -999. |

Is it just me or is GPRS slow? I know speed depends on network availability, my handset, and probably some other factors, but it seems slow to me. It seems slow regardless of time of day or my location. I downloaded a "dial-up networking monitor" and it shows average downloads around 13 kbps with peaks up to 47 kps. Has anyone found any methods to speed things up? I am using Windows XP and I have tried decreasing the MTU to 1472. It didn't seem to help. What are your experiences and solutions to improve the speed? Doug |
