About the role
You will have responsibility for the design, development and production of teaching and learning materials and delivery either across a range of English language / EAP modules within the English Scholl and the Learning and Skills department. You will work with others from across the College to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of teaching programmes in line with our education strategy, broader scholarship and our wider aims for an outstanding student experience. You will also contribute directly to student support and to the development and implementation of innovative teaching practices across the College.
Knowledge and skills required include:
- DELTA ,Trinity Diploma in TESOL, or Masters in Applied Linguistics
- Minimum 5 years’ experience teaching EAP / ESAP to a range of students with varying English levels from different nationalities.
- Solid experience of preparing students for UK Higher Education.
- Minimum 1 year experience of EAP teaching, curriculum development, assessment design, and quality management and enhancement in an HE environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to communicate complex and conceptual ideas to a range of groups.
- Able to participate in and develop external networks.
- Be able to demonstrate independent and self-managing working styles
- Be able to use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students
- Experience in academic team and module management
Desirable:
- Relevant experience within a relevant industry
- Masters in a relevant subject matter
- Evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review and have made an impact at discipline programme level beyond their own teaching
- Experience of teaching domestic students on level 3 foundation programmes
- Familiarity with widening participation concepts
